Here’s Your One Chance, Fancy Don’t Let Me Down

So yes, I still have a MySpace page.  It doesn’t quite get the attention that my Facebook or Twitter pages do.  In fact, I only check it about once a month.  Usually I haven’t missed out on much.

Apparently, in my sporadic maintenance of my MySpace page I missed the newest addition of Karaoke.  Amazing.  Personally I love karaoke for the audience and the energy from the crowd.  But it appears some folks are really digging the karaoke to the internet.  Basically users can pick a song and then upload a video of themselves singing it.  MySpace tracks the views and other users can leave you comments (ekk…that would ruin it for me right there!)

Today when I signed on and saw a contest from Reba on the sign in screen, she’s launched a contest around the launch of her newest album and the karaoke platform.  Clever.  I’ve got to hand it to Reba’s management team for steering her down this path.  Her MySpace fan page is stellar, she is one of my favorite celebs to follow on Twitter (she calls her followers Twebas!), and now she’s tapped into the talents of her fanbase by letting them upload their renditions of her newest songs creating hours of user generated content.   I felt compelled to watch several this afternoon (I will probably submit my own later), but here is one of my favorites and also the most viewed version of Strange.
