New Haircut

This gallery contains 3 photos.

A few weeks ago I cut about 5 inches off my hair.  Brooklyn Decker was my inspiration…

Trip to the Beach!

Earlier this month Ryan and I took a weekend trip down to Panama City Beach, FL.  I had a work event on a Monday, so it was the perfect opportunity to relax on the beach!  We had a great time, got sunburned, tried some awesome food, and did a little outlet shopping!  Here are a few pics:

Awesome brunch at a cool, beachy, restaurant, Liza’s Kitchen.  There was an awesome bluegrass band playing music on the patio…Ryan was in heaven.

A few mimosas later we were laying on the beach…

Great Concept, Poor Execution

It’s been awhile since I’ve reviewed anything on Yelp, but we had such a weird experience last night at the new Butterfly Restaurant in Southlake that I felt compelled to write up a quick review this morning.  Honestly, I did it in hopes that they’ll read the review, make some changes, and hopefully improve their business. Great concept, poor execution.  You can read my review here.

TwtrCon 2010

Just got back from TWTRCon 2010 in San Francisco. TWTRCON is a fast-paced conference that focuses primarily on Twitter. The main themes of the conference were measurement, influence, and analytics. I got to hear from some new speakers such as Avinash Kaushik, an analytics guru from Google. He said, “it’s not that you can’t measure Twitter, it’s that you suck at analytics” (paraphrasing a bit…). I also got to hear from some old goodies such as Brian Solis, Scott Monty, and of course my boss Linda Rutherford.

The conference was great because it was only one day, but they jammed packed the day full of content! They have the conference in several different cities.

MacNeils or McNeills

So I got married.  My new last name is McNeill.  The process of changing your name is actually quite the hassle.  For those of us who work during the day, it’s almost impossible…unless you are willing to use your day off to take care of real biz.   I’m  in the process of changing my name.  I’m in limbo really.  Some people are calling me Christi McNeill and some Christi Day.  It’s like I have two identities.   I love my maiden name, but for some strange reason I always wanted to be a Mc or an O’ something.  Mission accomplished.

My next step is to do an immense amount of research to learn all I can about my new last name.  Therefore, I’ve proposed to Ryan that we need a trip to Scotland.  Wikipedia can only offer me so much.  I need to learn the real roots of McNeill, and tour the castles, and drink their beer.

I’m thinking of a late fall trip.  This will be our first jaunt international.  My first stamp in my passport!  We’ll see if it happens, until then…I can keep researching right?

College Bound

Last night we celebrated my little brother, Kevin’s, departure to college! Kevin had a blast at the party. It’s so much fun to see friends and family get together to support him and his college future. Kevin will be attending McMurry University, a tiny private school in Abilene. He’ll get to experience dorm life (yay!) and study travel and tourism (cool degree program, huh?).

Here are some pics from Kev’s shindig. Also a shout out to Steve Day and the Cool Beans band. Cool Beans is dad’s new musical project. It’s a bunch of Fort Worths finest musicians! Anyway, here are the pics:

Engagement Photos

Doing a photoshoot is always fun!  Especially when you get to do it with the one you love!  We hired one of my co-workers, Paul Thompson, who also has a passion and talent for photography.  Paul came all the way out to Grapevine and was able to snap a few really good ones until the rain started coming down.  Rain = go to the bar for a drink…or two!

Here are a few of my favorites!  Click my flickr widget on the right to see more!

Bistro 737 September Star!

Yes!  I am the breakroom star for September!  I answered a few questions and our graphic design wiz kid, Sonia, cooked up this cute little q&a:

My Bed vs. Hotel Bed

Today, I made a quick trip to Kansas City.  Left Dallas at 8:10 am, and am now leaving KC at 3:10…that gets me HOME by 4:30.  These days trips are the way to go.  Here’s why:

My Bed:

Has my funny cat, my FULL sized beauty products, a reasonably priced bottle of wine, my DVR, a boyfriend, and of course my blankie.

A Hotel Bed:

Has none of the above.

The choice is simple.  If I can do my outta town biz in one quick trip, I do.  It saves money and sanity!

P.s. Kansas City, and the people here were fantastic!  Thanks for having me : )  Enjoy happy hour tonight!

Making Art

So we set up shop at the Vineyards on Sunday.  Today I got word that the two pieces of “Original Boyfriend Art” had sold!  Woohoo!  That’s great!  So Ryan is hard at work, being artistic tonight….creating more art!  I snuck out to the garage and shot a few pics of him in action!
